Directory of UK Motor Projects A - J

UK Motor Projects listed in order of their project name

We apologise that our directory is now very out of date. We would like to undertake a national survey to re-establish the data base of projects. Because this is an expensive task, we are currently seeking a grant to enable us to do this.

Scope: projects, programmes, clubs or groups that are either permanently in place or which run for a limited period of time. Such projects involve motor vehicles (including motorcyles) and/or driving in the process of education, youth work, social action, focused recreation or youth/adult justice.

Some areas are thought to have projects but no details are available.

To add a new project or amend an existing entry please use the on-line form.

If you are looking for a particular area of the country, use our site search engine.

We run an evening and weekend project for young people aged between 13 and 18. The project is structured into courses (involving lectures and practicals on mechanics and engineering, road safety, first aid and motor cycle trials riding. There are also projects, currently the preparation of two competitive ministox cars for racing.

The course is open to youths from any experience or background and we take referrals from other agencies who they believe will benefit socially from active participation.

We also offer afternoon sessions to local schools where they can release up to 10 students into our care for presentation of our courses. We have successfully entered young people from the evening courses to competitive trials events. We have close contact with Steve Colley and the world trials champion Dougie Lampkin. They often invite us to their training sessions. We hope to follow the same route with the ministox teams.
