TREADS is based in Plymouth with satellite projects across Devon.
Our aim is to engage young peope through the medium of vehicle maintenance,
go karts, driving, motor bikes, project work and, in North Devon,
surfing.
We offer a range of fully accredited courses and aim to engender
learning in an informal setting using driving and mechanics as a
youth work tool. The age range is between 13and 25. We specialise
in working with those at risk of exclusion and offending. All our
projects offer learning support in order that the young people have
the greatest chance of achieving. We also offer basic skills training
alongside our programmes. Over the last year we have catered for
over 600 people many of whom have re-engaged in formal education.
